The art of authentic senior portraits

Capturing Seniors As They Truly Are

There’s something incredibly special about photographing high school seniors—this unique moment in time when they’re on the cusp of something new, full of potential, excitement, and a bit of nostalgia. I don’t just take senior portraits; I create experiences that reflect the individuality and authenticity of each person I photograph.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all or overly stylized approach, I believe in getting to know the person in front of my lens. Before a session, I like to connect and learn about what matters most to them—their passions, hobbies, future plans, and even the little quirks that make them who they are. These conversations help me tailor each session to reflect their personality in a way that feels genuine and timeless.

From clothing and locations to props and even subtle choices in lighting and posing, everything is thoughtfully selected to help tell their story. Whether it’s a guitar they’ve played since childhood, a favorite hoodie, or a bench at a park where they spent summer afternoons, those details bring depth and personal meaning to every image.

I aim to capture a wide range of emotions and expressions. The bright smiles are great but the quiet, introspective moments are important too. These are the images that truly resonate and feel like you’re seeing the real person behind the photo.

Of course, these portraits are often shared with parents and grandparents, and I make sure we get those classic, cherished shots. But just as important is that the senior themselves loves their photos—that they feel seen and represented authentically, and that these images are treasured by them too.

If you’re thinking about scheduling a senior session, now is the time. My summer availability is limited.

Creating portraits that preserve genuine moments and personality is my passion—and I’m so grateful to share this gift with every senior who steps in front of my camera in a real, relaxed, and beautiful way.
