Finding the light in the dark

One of my favorite fellow artists, Bianca Black, asked me to submit some photos to be part of her gallery show at Sweetwater Center for the Arts in Sewickley. I have seven photos hanging there, and it feels good to included with other artists with the theme of “finding the light in the dark” which is something I do every day! Here is my bio and artist statement and one of my favorite photos in the show.

Anita Buzzy Prentiss is a photographer, visual storyteller, and lifelong creative. Drawn to emotion, beauty,
music, movement and connection, her photos feel timeless, personal and authentic. She specializes in
portraits, headshots and dancers and has been owner of Buzzy Photography for over 30 years.
“I’m always looking for the best light – with my camera, and honestly in life too. Visually, I’m drawn to
contrasty, black and white, moody, dramatic images, but that little bit of light has always felt symbolic of
hope and positivity for me – a reminder that beauty can still be found, especially in darker moments.”
