Books

My two books were truly a labor of love to create. Each is a perfect accompaniment to your coffee table décor or a unique gift for anyone who appreciates stunning imagery and raw slices of our humanity.

Waiting in the Wings: Pittsburgh Dancers Experiencing the Pandemic is a peek behind the curtain at the lives of professional dancers who were forced off stage during the COVID-19 pandemic. In brilliant photographs, it showcases the strength, grace and soaring beauty of these dancers doing what they love best.

The dancers’ insightful quotes will cause readers to ponder how the pandemic may have stripped them of their own joy in some ways while deepening their appreciation for life in others. A portion of the book’s proceeds funds positive mental health workshops for dancers (facilitated by Minding the Gap).

Porchraits: Pittsburghers on Their Porches During Quarantine is a down home collection of 200 photos of individuals and families on or near their front porches in neighborhoods around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the 2020 pandemic quarantine. Anita and her collaborator, Ellen Beckjord, interviewed each of their subjects, asking these questions:

What do you miss?
What are you enjoying?
What is surprising you?
What are you learning?
What do you hope for?

Now in its third printing, Anita’s mission to spread love, gratitude, joy and hope through visual and written narratives continues to spark these sentiments in readers long after the pandemic has ended.
