The Gift of Being Photographed

✨ Sneak peek! ✨

I had the honor of stepping in front of the lens for a change, thanks to the incredible Craig M Thompson. Craig is creating a stunning black-and-white series featuring his artist friends, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. I pulled on my black and white leather jackets and headed to his studio, which holds such an inspiring, creative energy.

As someone who spends so much time behind the camera, it’s rare that I pause and allow myself to be seen in this way. Being on the other side is always both humbling and eye-opening. It reminds me what it feels like to trust—to hand yourself over and let someone else decide how to frame you, how to light you, how to reveal the story in your face. It’s a powerful lesson in patience, vulnerability, and compassion…the very things I ask of my clients every day.

And oh my goodness… when I saw the photos, I was floored. Craig captured me in a way that felt both strong and tender, grounded and open. These images are more than portraits—they’re reminders. That we all need to be seen, appreciated and understood. That it’s so important to step out from behind the busyness of life and claim space for ourselves. And that sometimes, a photograph can help us recognize parts of ourselves we might have forgotten.

I truly love these images, and I’m so grateful for this gift. 😍
