Real Style, Real Joy – Shooting for Nouveau
Once a month, I get to photograph for Nouveau, a resale boutique that’s full of style, soul, and surprises. I genuinely love these shoots. Not just because we always get beautiful photos—but because they feel so real.
One of the things I appreciate most is that the models choose their own outfits. That simple choice makes all the difference because then the photos don’t have that lifeless mannequin look that some fashion photos have —because they’re wearing something they’d actually pick out and wear and it shows. The energy, the movement, the comfort, the confidence—it all comes through.
And beyond the photos themselves, I just love the philosophy behind Nouveau. The store is built on giving clothing a second life. People bring in pieces they no longer wear, and someone new gets to discover and enjoy them all over again. It’s sustainable, affordable, and deeply satisfying to be part of that cycle. Shopping resale is a great way to reduce waste and make fashion more personal.
Every shoot reminds me that style and fashion photography doesn’t have to be expensive, show-offish or wasteful. It can be joyful, expressive, and sustainable—all at once.
That’s the magic of Nouveau. And I can’t wait for the next shoot.
